Eternal Frontier

A fan-run revival of Brave Frontier.

Gumi's servers for Brave Frontier went dark years ago, and with them a decade of Grand Gaia. Eternal Frontier is a private server rebuilding it: a reconstructed game server that the original Android client talks to, so the game plays the way it did.

It is free, non-commercial, and always will be. There is nothing to buy, no premium currency for sale, and no donations.

Where it stands

Being straight about this, because there is a difference between "we have the data" and "you can play it":

  • Catalogued — all of Grand Gaia is extracted: 2,487 units, 410 quest areas, 1,526 dungeons, every vortex.
  • Enabled — 987 story quests across 21 regions are switched on, along with the full permanent Vortex Gate rotation.
  • Played and verified — the tutorial, end to end. Everything past it is enabled but has not been played through yet.

Account creation and saving, currencies, battles, EXP and levelling, energy, the present box, the unit and item guides and player records are all working and confirmed on a real device.

Can I play?

Not yet. The server runs, but it is not open to the public — it needs to move to permanent hosting, get proper backups, and be tested by more than one person first. When there is a client to download, it will be posted here and in News.

Follow along in the meantime:

  • eternal-frontier.org — live progress, and a full wiki of units, quests, areas and items
  • News — updates as things land
